Wager is the result of our Jake X Inka breeding - the singleton. She is a beautiful mix of Jake and Inka. She's got a firery, mischeivious attitude and we're "wagering" a guess that she's going to be LOTS of fun to train. She has a beautiful head piece with a full muzzle, lots of cheek fill and lovely almond shaped dark eyes. Her structural evaluation at 8 wks. of age was very, very good and we anticipate a fun ride in the CKC conformation rings with this girl. Thus far Wager has not disappointed us in the conformation ring! In only two weekends of shows she earned 7 points towards her Championship with multi Best Puppy in Breed wins, a Best of Winners over a 4 year old male from the USA & a Best of Breed win! Wager finished her Championship on Nov. 1st, 2008 at the Red Deer show going WB & BP both Friday and Saturday. She was completely breeder/owner handled to all of her points! Wager's first weekend out as a Special, more for a tune-up then anything, she picks up her first group placement going Group 4 under Mr. Robert Verhulst in Fort St. John BC! She was handled by Natasha Taphorn for this win and we thank her for her expertise in making Wager shine. Wager was selected as our single Specials entry for the 2009 Rottweiler Club of Canada National Specialty show in July, 2009, in Calgary, AB. We carefully evaluated our Specials dogs and it was unanimous that Wager should be the one to represent Ashemburg. Being that she is still so young, just 17 months old, we set a reasonable goal for her and that was to make the cut. With the size of the entry and the calibre of the dogs being shown we felt that this was an attainable goal if Wager cooperated and showed herself rather then be bratty in the ring....which has also been known to happen. It turned out to be an attainable goal, and then some. Wager superceded dreams we didn't dare speak aloud. What an incredible thrill to have breeder Judge Isabelle Nicol point to us for Best of Opposite Sex in Specialty! It is a moment in time I will never forget. Most sincere thanks to our Judge for not only finding our baby girl in that line-up, but appreciating her enough to bestow such an honour upon her. ![]() I must add that Wager was proudly breeder/owner handled to her BOSS win, and her latest Group placements under Judges Kim LeBlanc at the Saskatooon Working Herding Specialty, Ms. Maida Puterman and Ms. Honey Glendenning! Wager finished 2009 Canada's #1 Rottweiler Bitch All Breed*...at only 21 months of age! ![]() The start of the 2010 show season saw Wager gather another 3 group placements, a Group 3 and two Group 4's in two weekends. Specials thanks to the Judges for finding Wager's unmistakeable breed type and flowing movement! Unfortunately, Wager suffered an injury in late March 2010 which has proved to be career ending. She has now undergone 6 surgeries with #7 sitting on the horizon. We had hoped that one day she may be able to show again, but that no longer appears to be a possibility. Now, the sole focus will be her health, happiness and wellbeing. While I know she was always happiest in the show ring, God obviously had other plans for my beautiful girl.
Despite being sidelined since April, 2010, Wager still placed in the Top 20 All Breed Rottweilers for 2010, coming in at #17 and was the #8 Breed Bitch. *Showtime Stats Dec. 12/09 - RCC/CKC stats
